So I've just seen the new Star Trek movie and it was awesome! I loved the actors they got for the characters - Kirk, Spock, and McCoy were all perfect. I shall not spoil, but I loved it. :)

Time for sleep.

ETA: I made two new icons for myself from the movie! This McCoy one (with the "Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence" quote), and one including the Spock/Uhura hug.

McCoy was literally perfect. Karl Urban was absolutely amazing. XD

I just got back from the midnight showing of X-Men Origins, and I have to say, I love Wolverine!

The movie was awesome. Gambit was really cool, and, yeah, I love Wolverine even more now. :)

I just finished watching all three extended LOTR movies with some friends. Those movies are long! It was very awesome and fun, and a great use of a day. XD

(Tomorrow will involve a lot of homework and studying, but it was so worth it just for today's relaxation and movie-watching. :) )

ETA: I just had to make a LOTR icon, and I apparently decided to obsess with Haldir. Love him. XD

Whoo-hoo! All of my classes are canceled! Which gives me time both for more sleep and also time to catch up on all that homework...fun!

So a friend of mine was sick for a few weeks (poor thing), and then finally her boyfriend, another close friend of mine, caught it and gave it to another very close friend of mine who has consequently given it to me. Three of us are now very, very sick (my poor roommate has no hope of escape, I don't think). I think it may be the flu, but I really don't know. There really was no hope for any of us, given that we tend to spend most of every day together. I didn't even avoid any of them when they were sick - I knew that I'd already caught it from a certain friend (usually sharing a Rock Star with a friend would not lead to illness, but, of course, one of the few times I do...), and I was just waiting to wake up seriously ill one day. And that day was today.

So it's the busiest few weeks of school now and we're all sick. Wonderful timing, isn't it? I really don't know how I'm going to concentrate enough to get all my work done... I really don't want to go to classes today, but I hate missing classes so I think I'll try to go.

I hate being sick. Tis not fun at all.

ETA: Oh, lovely. So apparently the two friends of mine have different illnesses. And guess what? I have both of their symptoms. All of them. I got both sicknesses. This sucks.

"Which holocaust should be chosen?"

Somehow a new villain obsession has snuck up on me without me realizing it - until I caught myself wasting 20 minutes this morning looking through pictures of said villain.

Last week I watched the second half of the first Hellboy movie with some friends for the first time (I still have yet to see the second half). The same day, we watched Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Anyone who has seen the movie probably knows exactly who I'm obsessed with now.

The first scene in the movie with him (not the puppet him, the actual elf), I said "That guy is cool. I've decided he's my favorite character." And wow was I right! Prince Nuada is amazing! He's exactly the sort of villain I love - skilled, strong, rather handsome, and has a possibility of being right! And he has issues, which, again, makes him feel real - he's not just a greedy bastard like some villains. There's more to him.

So...yep. New obsession, as my icon shows. I know it's almost impossible to read, but it's my favorite quote of his: "Let this remind you why you once feared the dark."

He's awesome. :)

Perhaps some Hellboy fan fiction is in my future?  Hmm... *ponders*

These last few weeks have been freakishly busy, and the next two weeks are going to be hell. Four exams and a paper this week, an exam, a speech, and two papers next week, plus all the usual work from all my classes and my daily workout. Ugh. (But yay for Rock Star energy drinks)

So I should be writing a paper or studying for my exam right now, but, finally, FINALLY, I have found inspiration for my novel. It has been ages since I've worked on it. I've already got over 500 words down this morning, which is more than I've written in weeks. Yay for inspiration!

Valkyrie is a suspense thriller that I had expected to simply be entertaining to see. But it turned out to be one of the most moving movies that I have ever seen, and quite possibly the most moving and meaningful movie.

It is based on the true story of men who risked (and, for many, gave) their lives in order to try to bring down Hitler's Germany and save Europe. With many wonderful actors, including three from the Pirates saga and even one from LOTR, the movie is extremely well done with little to no overacting or "excessive drama." It is a beautiful tribute honoring some of the Germans who stood against the evil of Hitler's regime.

I highly recommend that everyone goes to see this movie. It is amazing. You won't regret it.
